European HDPE Spot Prices Remain Stable Despite Low Activity / Sources report tightening of supply due to multiple factors / Market expects slow contractual negotiations in August

During the week ending August 14, the European markets for high-density Polyethylene saw stable spot prices, with a subdued trade activity due to the seasonal slowdown of the summer holidays. The European HDPE unimodal films grade spot price was Eur1,190/mt NWE August 14, unchanged from the previous week. According to sources on the market, it was reported that HDPE grades were in short supply, due to continued import restrictions into Europe as well as some domestic outages. A producer reported that the HDPE supply was tightening due to multiple domestic producers not producing.
