In the European ethylene market, the supply was limited in the week ending July 26. A rise in restocking activities in the ethylene and derivatives markets has been noted ahead of the turnaround season. A producer stated that the price of three-to-30-day free-delivered Northwest European spot ethylene at Eur792/mt was down Eur1.50/mt from the previous week. This is due to the restocking attitudes and not the improvement in demand. Participants in the coastal markets cited challenges on the ethylene industry due to the continued length of the market and the weak demand.
