Spot prices drop on weak fundamentals / Market sentiment deteriorates as June approaches

Imports continued to put pressure on the European markets for linear low density polyethylene in the week ended May 29. Imports at competitive prices pushed up the market pressure, with weak demand on domestic markets. Sources on the markets cited expectations that more imports would be made in June. In addition to the ample supply of materials, buyers have been heard to hold off on purchases, anticipating lower price. A distributor stated that the market was relatively good in May but is now a buyer's market. Spot prices continued to fall due to the weak fundamentals of supply and demand.
