CFR China propylene fell by $5/mt per day
to $790/mt on May 30, as the market continued to be bearish because of weak
downstream demand. A
producer reported that market activity was limited in the past week due to weak
downstream demand. East China propylene
was down Yuan 125/mt on a day-to-day basis at Yuan 6100/mt, while Shandong
propylene was unchanged at Yuan 6.400/mt. Another
source said that the FOB Korea mark was down $10/mt on a daily basis at $780/mt
due to low demand and oversupply. A
company source told us that Unv1 LCY Chemical plans to restart the
40,000mt/year Kaohsiung polypropylene factory around June 6 or 7 after it shut
