PP Asia PP : SEA Prices Fall on Sluggish Demand / The manufacturing off-season is a time of low buying sentiment / Vietnam Long Son

The Asian PP market declined in the week ending August 21, as a result of a continued weakness in macroeconomic sentiment, and regional oversupply. China's domestic PP homo raffia price ranged, rising Yuan 20/mt from the previous week to Yuan 7,560/mt. This was in line with changes in domestic futures. "PP is quiet and the market has a dull look." A China-based manufacturer said that domestic spot prices were rangebound. CFR China PP homo raffia/injection was down $10/mt to $890/mt during the manufacturing off-season. However, spot offers are still scarce. The stronger yuan against the US dollar has made Chinese exports less competitive. CFR Southeast Asia PP homo raffia/injection was assessed at $930/mt, down $5/mt due to a bearish mood amid a prolonged glut of supply. Traders report that buyers...
