South Asian Power Plant: Falling; Buyers remain wary of high CFR offers / Indian production currently meets local demand / Costly CFR Offers, US Dollar Volatility Dent Buy Interest

South Asian polypropylene prices are down a bit from the previous week, Feb. 26. India-based buyers continue to place their orders with domestic suppliers due to a volatile US Dollar, high CFR offers and a need to meet volume commitments this quarter. PP raffia/injection grade was $975/mt CFR South Asia on February 26, down $5/mt compared to the previous week. The assessment was lower than offers for Middle East origin material, which were heard at $995/mt or $1,040/mt CIF India. It also matched tradable indicators heard between $970 and $990/mt. The buying indications ranged from $945 to $970/mt but were mainly concentrated at the lower end.
