Southeast Asian polypropylene prices stable on tightening supply / Low freight rates help Chinese exporters compete / Vietnam’s activity increases; Indonesia’s demand is subdued

Asia's polypropylene markets were largely stable over the weekend of Feb. 19. Supply continued to be tight, while demand appeared mixed in China and Southeast Asia. China's domestic PP raffia prices were unchanged from week to week, at Yuan 7,380/mt on Feb. 19. Restocking demand increased following the Lunar New Year holidays. Meanwhile, supply pressure in East Chinaand North China eased as key producers began plant turnarounds. The market remains stable and import offers are scarce as manufacturers look ahead to the March sales cycle.
