Southeast Asian Polypropylene prices stable on tightened supply / Low freight rates help Chinese exporters compete / Vietnam’s activity increases; Indonesia’s demand is subdued

The Asian polypropylene industry was stable during the week ending February 19, with a tightening supply and a mixed demand across China and Southeast Asia. PP raffia prices in China were the same week over week as they were Yuan 7,380/mt on February 19, due to restocking after Lunar New Year. However, supply pressure was reduced as major producers started plant turnarounds. The market has stabilized and buying interest is up with the return downstream factories. A trader noted that China's domestic demand remains outpaced by its supply. Makret participants are looking forward to the sales cycle in March. Import offers have been scarce. CFR China PP raffia price remained unchanged at $880/mt on February 19, while PP Block Copolymer Deals were concluded for duty-able Korea –origin cargo. CFR Vietnam...
