In the week ended Oct. 23, Asian polypropylene prices dipped slightly, reflecting a weakening macroeconomic climate. Many traders noted that the arbitrage for exports from China had not yet opened. Trades are mainly focused on domestic trades. Sources said that freight from China to Southeast Asia is around $50/mt. Sources say that China's Fujian Zhongjing Petrochemical will operate its 2.2 mt/year polypropylene plant based on propane dehydrogenation in Jiangyin to full capacity at the end of October. This is up from 70% last month. Three PP plants are available, consisting of two 500,000 mt/year and one 1.2 mt/year.
