The FOB Saudi Arabia raffiaspot prices at $1,020/mt on June 19 were unchanged from the previous day and week due to Eid al Adha. Some participants have been forced to find alternative routes due to the increased lead times. For example, they may ship the material by truck to Jeddah and then through the Red Sea. According to a Turkey-based trader, this route can reduce lead times by three weeks but increases freight costs from $40 to $60/mt. The total cost for shipping via this route is between $120-$150/mt.
