Asian polycarbonate: Prices stable amid low demand / China sees minimal pre-Lunar New Year fluctuation / CNOOC and Shell expand PC production in China - Jan 16, 2025

The Asian polycarbonate price remained unchanged during the week ending Jan. 15, despite persistently low demand. On Jan. 15, general purpose PC molding grade was $1,600/mt CFR China, unchanged from day to day and week to week. This reflects tradable indicators given by two traders and unchanged market fundamentals. A trade and an offer at $1950/mt or $1930/mt that were heard but not considered fully in the assessment was due to nonstandard conditions. Extrusion grade PC was also unchanged at $1,610/mt CIF China on January 15, based on the tradable indicator heard from a dealer at this level, and unchanged market fundamentals.
