Asian polycarbonate: prices stable as market fundamentals remain unchanged / China's downstream sector gradually resumes operations / Polycarbonate plant rates increase after the holiday

Prices of Asian polycarbonate remained unchanged during the week ending Feb. 12 as market activity was sluggish. General-purpose grade PC stable from day to day and week to week at $1600/mt CFR China based on an indication heard at that level. Extrusion-grade plastics are also stable at $1,610/mt, CFR China. This is based on an indication that was heard. Sources said that the domestic polycarbonate markets in China saw little change as downstream sectors are still resuming their operations. A Chinese trader stated that the downstream sectors were still ramping up and they needed to reach their normal operating levels first before evaluating market conditions. China's polycarbonate plants are operating at around 81% despite minor fluctuations in prices. This is up from 77% just before the Lunar New Year holiday....
