On Nov. 27, the price of Polybutylene Terephthalate FOB China was $1,035/mt, unchanged from the previous week and below the lowest bid at $1070/mt. A China-based trader stated that prices were stable during the week due to the relatively stable market. CFR China purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA), which is used in the production of PTA, showed some weakness. The price closed at $623/mt, down $8 from last week. The trader stated that producers who offer FOB China prices of $1,070/mt are making a loss. The trader said that this reflected the current bearish market conditions and the state of affairs of the companies. His FOB China offer was $1,290/mt.
