Due to scheduled turnarounds in Asia, the
Asian paraxylene market was tightened March 29. The Market on Close
assessment for the third session of this week saw no offers. However, a trade
was made at $1,107-1,147/mt to facilitate May trading laycans. The CFR Unv1/China Paraxylene marker was at $1,101-1,141/mt
on March 28, which is the same level as the previous session. The last bid for June cargo at the June daily Mean
paraxylene was received at plus $11-16/mt. According to a source, 500 mt of paraxylene-naphtha spread
paper was cleared during the day. Sources
said that paper trading sentiment was weak. The open interest at Singapore Exchange stood at 759,000 mt
