to volatile feedstock prices, selling sentiment in Asia PET markets was stable
March 8. The key feedstock PTA prices rose $6/mt to $772/mt CFR China,
while the PX CFR Taiwan/China indicator was up $4.33/mt to $1035.50/mt last
week. The turnarounds in China's upstream PTA markets have tightened
feedstock supply and supported PET. Both China and Southeast Asia had a
wide range of offers for PET chips, with some producers stating that demand was
stable in comparison to the week before. Market sources reported that
operating rates for PET chips in bottle grade were at around 100% at most Chinese
