Asian PET: Northeast Asia Prices Stable amid Balanced Supply and Demand / Southeast Asia prices drop on weaker upstream Prices / China's polyethylene plant operating rate is 78%

The Asian polyethylene Terephthalate market was mixed in the week ended November 20, with prices slightly lower in Southeast Asia but stable in Northeast Asia. As of Nov. 20, Asian PET flake was stable at $795/mt, FOB NEA. FOB SE Asia PET bottle flake, however, was down $10/mt from the previous week to $865/mt. In Northeast Asia, participants on the market described the prices as stable, with a balanced supply anddemand and a reduced supply due to recent maintenance at certain plants. A China-based producer highlighted a stable pattern in the market by saying, "Our prices are strong and the market is basically at equilibrium".
