Asian pet: Prices unchanged due to Lunar New Year slowdown / Holiday lull limits Chinese market activity / Feedstock prices edge lower due to softer crude

Prices of polyethylene terephthalate in Asia remained stable from Jan. 22 to 28, as the market activity decreased ahead of Lunar New Year. Bottle-grade PET FOB Northeast Asia is stable at $800/mt for the week ending January 28. The FOB Southeast Asia prices of PET remained stable at $910/mt during the same time period. As of January 28, prompt cargoes for POY150D/48F, DTY150D/48F, and both were stable on the domestic Chinese market at Yuan 7,300/mt, and Yuan 8,440/mt, respectively. FDY150D/96F prices were also stable at Yuan 7,700/mt. The market activity in China is low, as many participants are away on Lunar New Year holidays.
