Asian Pet: Trade muted during holidays in China- Buyer interest drops amid declining upstream- Lack of clarity in the near term also affects demandThe Asian PET market saw a quiet week
ending May 3, due to the Labor Day holiday in China. The buying sentiment was
lower due to the decline in upstream PX price. Several buyers said they would
wait and see as there is no clarity for the near future. A trader stated that slow end-product production also
dampened the demand as global consumer spending cuts took their toll on
downstream markets like apparel, footwear and bedding. Sources said that trade was expected to increase from May 4
