caused a slowdown in trade in Asian PET markets during the week that ended
April 5. Producers
increased their offers citing higher upstream PX, PTA and MEG prices. Market sources indicated that margins for PET chips in
bottle grades were healthy. However, margins for polyester fiber and yarn
grades remained low. As the demand for
finished goods facilities continued to be weak, there were not many deals on
polyester fiber or yarn grades. Some
market participants cited uncertainty following the announcement of the OPEC+
