South Asia PE: Prices drop amid weak demand / LLDPE Film Price Drops $15/mt in a Week / Adequate supply of most PE grades

South Asian PE prices fell in the week ending July 24. Sources said that import discussions had dwindled and the domestic market had weakened. According to a trader, PE demand in India was low due to monsoon, but supply remained stable for the majority of varieties. The only exception is injection-grade HDPE which still has a slightly tighter supply domestically. According to a local producer, the PE market is weakening because of falling demand and adequate supply. Inventory levels of LDPE films were higher due to more cargoes arriving, and the availability of cheaper Iranian material.
