South Asia PE: Prices steady on less offers and thin trade / Moderate Demand in India / Adjacent Markets Softening

In the week ending Nov. 20, South Asian polyethylene markets remained unchanged as traders reported a lack of import discussions and offers. Polyethylene from Indian producers kept supply steady, but PE demand in the area remained moderate. A domestic producer stated that the improvement in demand will lead to an increase in import prices in the coming days, as inventories are being absorbed. A major Indian PE manufacturer said that the price trend will only be clear after new import offers are announced and for now, the market is stable. Sources said that although discounts are available from local PE manufacturers, they are only for large volumes and are based on a case-by-case basis.
