South Asia's polyethylene prices were largely stable during the week ending September 4, despite unchanged market fundamentals and discussion levels. Sources said that the downward trend in PE prices appears to have stopped and that a stable or firmer market can be expected over the next few days. A major Indian producer stated that several Indian PE manufacturers have stopped discounting and protecting prices as the market will likely pick up after the monsoon. The producer said that HDPE and LLDPE have reached a bottom and the discussion level for pipe grades is also increasing.
