South Asia PE: prices stable on unchanged fundamentals and thin trade / Flat demand persists after Diwali / Adjacent markets are stable

In the week ending Nov. 13, the South Asian polyethylene markets remained stable, largely due to unchanged fundamentals in terms of demand and supply. Import discussions were also minimal. Sources said that while polyethylene demand in India was soft to moderate, PE supplies were adequate for the majority of grades. Sources said that some lower prices were offered for large quantities and certain deals. "However, the overall import price for PE grades has not changed since last week," stated an international supplier. A trader who shared similar views said that fewer offers were heard throughout the week, and that import discussions with suppliers were stable due to better prices in adjacent markets.
