US PVC prices are higher in India and Latin America / Export prices expected to rise during the summer

The US polyvinylchloride export price was stable in the week ending May 22. Market sources report that the high Chinese freight rates continue to impact the global export market. In spite of this, there were indications that deals at higher levels had yet to be confirmed. Sources on the market have noted a division of US export prices based on destination countries or regions. Sources said that pricing in India and other countries affected by the drop in Chinese volumes was between $750-$770/mt FAS Houston. In other destinations, pricing levels were around $730/mt FAS Houston. Another source confirmed the difference between regions and said that pricing levels in Latin America could be higher than $760/mt FAS Houston.
