Asian ABS Weekly - Prices are stable or weakening ahead of the long break / Upstream Butadiene and ACN Prices Continue to Rise on Week / China ABS operating rates slightly lower than last week

The Asian acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene CFR China marker at $1,410/mt on Jan. 15, stable from the last assessment on Jan. 8. CFR Southeast Asia was also assessed at $1400/mt for the week, $20/mt below the best offers from producers of $1405/mt. This reflects a $20/mt difference to the CFR China assessment. This week, producers generally kept their offer levels at the same level or lower to attract more SE Asia buyers before the Lunar New Year holiday. The butadiene CFR China mark was $1,360/mt in January 15, an increase of $50/mt compared to the previous ABS assessment made on Jan. 8.
