Asian propylene was stable in the week leading up to October 4 due to a lack of discussions caused by China holidays and a Typhoon in Taiwan. A producer said that due to the Chinese holiday and Typhoon Krathon there were minimal trade discussions. On Oct. 3, afternoon, Typhoon Krathon hit Taiwan's West Coast. Several downstream production facilities were closed due to power outages in Kaohsiung. Market sources say that affected downstream facilities will resume operations today. Taiwan's CPC also shut down one of its steam crackers in Linyuan that was fed by naphtha following the power outage. Sources claim that the shutdown could last until mid-October.
