Asian LLDPE prices stable despite low trading activity / Sufficient stock levels in Southeast Asia / Chinese futures drop

Prices remained stable in the Asian market for linear low density polyethylene during the week ending September 11. LLDPE film prices remained unchanged at $925/mt FAR East Asia and $970/mt FAR Southeast Asia. Trading was light in China due to the continued weakness of demand and buyer appetite. A trader stated that the demand is low and Chinese futures have been down for a while. The oil market has also been slow. On Sept. 11, the most actively traded futures for January 2025 on the Dalian Commodity Exchange dropped Yuan 5/mt per day to Yuan 7,931/mt.
