Asian ABS prices stable amid low demand / Upstream styrene Monomer Price Falls to $1,122/mt / China ABS operating rates increase to 61.08%

The Asian acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) CFR China and CFR Southeast Asia markers at $1,445/mt and $1,465/mt, both unchanged on the week on Aug. 7. Market sources attributed the drop in upstream prices for the stable or lower offers. CFR China styrene Monomer and FOB Korea Markers Aug. 7, at $1,122/mt & $1,107/mt respectively, down $23.50/mt compared to the previous week. The demand for polymers in the region was reported to be similar to last week. The market is not much different from last week. A market source said that the demand is extremely low and there have been very few discussions. Market sources reported that the ABS production rate in China was 61.08% for the week ending August 2. This is up about 0.97 percentage points compared to the previous week....
