Asian ABS prices stable as producers maintain current offer levels / China ABS Operating Rate Falls to 58.3% / Feedstock prices ease

The Asian acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene CFR China and CFR Southeast Asia markers at $1,455/mt and $1,475/ mt, respectively, unchanged from the previous week. The level of offers from producers has remained static. The ABS market was viewed with mixed opinions. "Our offer levels are unchanged, but the room for price reductions is limited for discussions," said one producer. He added that the demand for styrenics continues to be under pressure due to a gloomy macroeconomic outlook. A producer who was optimistic about sales volume in the future said that he anticipated deepsea shipping container freight to decrease, resulting in a recovery of deepsea volumes.
