The Asian market for low density polyethylene remained stable in the week ending September 4 due to a lack of spot offers and a quiet trading environment. LDPE films remained unchanged at $1,160/mt for Southeast Asia and $ 1,100/mt for Far East Asia. Sources noted that some Chinese producers were exporting LDPE to Southeast Asia due to the price difference between China and Southeast Asia. Sources expect that prices will continue to fall as demand remains weak. Sources said that few dollar-denominated offers were made in China and that buyers were not in any hurry to secure cargoes.
