Asian PS prices firm up in line with Upstream Markets / Feedstock prices rise as higher offers and costs are incurred / China PS operating rates increase, but EPS falls on week

GPPS CFR China was $1,190/mt as of Jan. 22. This is $10/mt higher than the previous assessment made on Jan. 15 due to feedstock prices and increased offers before the Lunar New Year holiday. The CFR China-CFR Southeast Asia Spread was unchanged at minus $10/mt. China's domestic PS market was stagnant, with very little activity. The tightening of supply is expected to support prices in the near term. HIPS CFR China was up $10/mt from the previous week to $1,295/mt on Jan. 22. This is due to higher feedstock prices and lower offers at $1320/mt. CFR China to CFR Southeast Asia was at minus 10/mt. The EPS general grade was stable at $1.220/mt, FOB Northeast Asia, Jan. 22.
