MTBE FOB Singapore Asian fell $6.50/mt from day to day, down to $823/mt on May 31. The MTBE factor FOB Singapore was also lower than the previous day's reading of 1.134. MTBE prices have fallen in Asia over the past week. Prices dropped from $852.50/mt. China producers held on to their ideas of selling despite no actual offers being heard. East China prices were trading at around Yuan 6.960/mt, while Shandong was around Yuan 6.800/mt. Sources said that with domestic prices at such high levels and the June demand forecast to be strong, Chinese producers did not want to sell cargoes on the Singapore market for deep discounts.
