Asian PS prices stable despite weak demand / Buyers bargain for lower prices and sellers try to clear Dec cargoes / China PS operating rates increase, but EPS drops on week

The CFR China general purpose polystyrene remained stable for the week, at $1200/mt, while high impact polystyrene remained stable, at $1285/mt. CFR SEA's general-purpose polystyrene (GPP) and high-impact polystyrene (HIP) markers were also stable for the week, at $1,215/mt et $1,300/mt respectively. This follows the CFR China markers. This week, producers lowered their offer levels to a range of stable or lower due to the talk of weak demand. A producer stated that the export market was weak, and customers were negotiating lower prices. "[Offering levels are slightly down this week] because of our desire to get more orders in January.
