Asian HDPE prices edge lower amid continued low demand / Demand is weak / Long Son restarts

HDPE production Prices on the Asian high density polyethylene markets continued to fall in the week ending August 21, as low demand continues pushing prices down. HDPE film was down $20/mt from the previous week to $950/mt CFR Southeast Asia, while CFR Fareast Asia was down $5/mt. A trader said, "This is supposed to the be the month of peak purchasing for Thanksgiving or Mid-autumn Festival but the demand is still poor. It's worse than last years," HDPE injection continues to be the lowest grade of all HD grades, mainly due to a slowdown in downstream demand for household goods and appliances.
