Asian LLDPE prices soften amid weak demand and thin trading -/ Southeast Asia buyers remain on the sidelines / China's Zhongtian Hechuang restarts LL Line

The Asian linear low-polyethylene market prices softened due to the continued weakness in demand, as buyers were on the sidelines during the week ending July 31. LLDPE CFR Far East Asia fell $10/mt from the previous week to $940/mt, while CFR Southeast Asia dropped $5/mt and was at $1010/mt by July 31. The sentiment in China was bearish all week long due to low expectations for macroeconomic stimulus. The mood improved on July 31, after the Political Bureau of Central Committee of the Communist Party of China met on July 30. Chinese leaders had pledged to intensify macro-policies to achieve an economic growth target of approximately 5% per year.
