Sources report that the Asian propylene markets fundamentals were unchanged on May 28, with buyers not in need for spot cargoes, and producers reluctant to lower prices because of higher feedstock costs. CFR China propylene cargoes offered were at around $860/mt. Tradeable indications ranged from $840 to $870/mt CFR China. CFR China propylene and FOB Korean propylene were both stable at $850/mt on May 28. First-half July CFR North Asia delivered refrigerated propylene at $633/mt on May 28 is up $3/mt from the previous day. Propane can be used as a source of propylene which is then converted into acrylonitrile.
