Prices of Asia Polyols and Isocyanates fall amid weak demand / PMDI domestic price heard at Rupees 190-200/kg / Heavy rains worsen the demand for both products

Prices of polymeric polyol methylene diphenyl isocyanate slabstocks in Asia fell during the week ending Sept. 6. This was due to a weaker demand on the Indian market, which has been impacted by the monsoons. Polymeric MDI was $2,275/mt CIF India, down $50/mt from the previous week due to weak offers and selling indications. Market participants expected a drop in offers towards the end of the last week, but instead they heard lower ones. Discussions were held about a major manufacturer experiencing problems with their plant. This could lead to supply disruptions. Market sources reported that the problem was quickly resolved, allowing supply to continue uninterrupted. During the week, the domestic market for PMDI remained weak to stable.
