US spot exports of normal butanol dropped
in the week ended June 8 as supply was healthy and buying interest low. On a FOB USGC base,
indications for NBA and 2-ethyl butanol exports were in the low 90s and mid 80s
cents/lb respectively. NBA is down $35
compared to a week earlier, based on a price indicator heard at mid-80s
Cents/lb FOB and partly tracking the CFR China marker. The 2-EH was stable for the week, pending confirmation of
market activity. According to one source,
the markets were very quiet and a short-term improvement in demand was not
