MEG prices remain flat in line with the trade / Arbitrage from US to EU is open source

According to feedback from the market, prices for US monoethylene and diethylene were stable in the week ending April 19, despite tightening supplies. On April 19, a MEG trade at a $91/mt discount to the Asia spot rate, which was assessed at $520/mt (or 19.50 cents/lb F.O.B. USG), was heard. According to a trader, discounts to the ASP are now closer to $80/mt. DEG was offered at 36 cents/lb, FOB USG. A trade for 1,500 mt in May was done at $650/mt. The US Gulf Coast has seen a tightening of ethylene glycols due to economic run cuts caused by oversupply. Low MEG run rates have led to a tightening of the supply for co-products DEG, TEG and TEG.
