Asia PE: Little change amid muted trading and geopolitical uncertainties / Chinese LLDPE prices increase amid tight supply / Muted trading on Chinese and SEA CFR Markets

In the week ending Dec. 4, the Asian polyethylene market was largely unchanged amid muted trading, as buyers continued to stay on the sidelines. HDPE film remained stable at $910/mt FAR East Asia, while LDPE was unchanged at $1120/mt FAR East Asia for the week ending Dec. 4. LLDPE film fell $10/mt in one week to $930/mt for Southeast Asia on December 4 due to lower market offers. The market was quiet as buyers maintained a cautious attitude amid geopolitical uncertainty. LLDPE prices in the Chinese domestic market increased slightly due to tightening supplies caused by ongoing maintenance at several plants. These include the two LLDPE units of Fujian Refining, each with a capacity of 450,000 mt/year, and Sinopec-SK Wuhan Petrochemical, each with a 300,000 mt/year, both scheduled to resume...
