Prices for import polyvinyl chloride increased by $15/mt to Brazil during the week ending September 4, as the market awaited discussions on a possible tax hike. Meanwhile, prices in West Coast South America dropped $30/mt due to a weak demand.

Spot PVC is available at $845/mt CIF Brazil. This price is below the best offer heard from an Egyptian seller at $850/mt. According to market reports, this origin offers the best value, since Egyptian-origin materials are not subject to import duties in Brazil, unlike material from China or the US.
