Asia PE prices largely stable, buyers on the sidelines due to sufficient inventory / Few Middle East and SE Asia offers heard by Chinese / Trading in SE Asia remains muted

The Asian polyethylene market prices remained largely unchanged during the week ending Nov.13 as buyers had sufficient inventories and were not rushing to buy cargoes. The Chinese market remained stable throughout the week with very few offers coming from the Middle East or Southeast Asia. Sources said that prices remained flat and the trading environment did not improve significantly. Sources said that the Chinese government announced on Nov. 8, a $1.4 trillion package of debt relief to assist local governments. There will not be any direct stimulus for the economy. Sources on the market said that the news had little impact on the expectations of the markets, and sentiments are still bearish for the near future.
