- Little improvement is expected in the demand for
styrene in May- Benzene prices fall as the
May settlement window continues

Prices on the European
Styrene Market fell sharply from April 23 to 24, as demand remained low. The laycan for five to 30 days was priced at $1,088-1,130/mt, FOB ARA.
This is down $62.75-68.89/mt from the previous day. Sources said that the downstream polystyrene industry was not very
supportive of the demand in May. The construction sector showed little interest
and the packaging market also showed a lackluster response. As the settlement window for the contract price of May continued, upstream
benzene fell in price. On the day, offers fell with few indications of confirmed trades.
