US Spot PVC export prices fall on lower August offers / August offers are down by about $50/mt compared to July / Weak Demand Persists Traders claim offer levels are too low

US spot export polyvinyl chloride prices fell $40 in the week ending July 31 based on repeated and corroborated offers heard at lower levels. On the week the market was quiet, but by July 30, offers were heard ranging between $755 and $785/mt FAS Houston. The latest, most corroborated, and repeatable offer was $775/mt FAS Houston. The August offers reported were lower than the July ones. Sources reported that in July the initial offers heard at $850-860/mt were met with resistance by the market. This led to an adjustment of $820-835/mt FAS Houston. Comparing August's offers to the revised July level, they decreased by about $50/mt.
