The spot export price for US acrylonitrile
remained stable on the week as feedstock costs declined less than they did in
early May. During
the week ending May 9, price expectations for the second quarter were $1,385/mt
F.O.B. US Gulf. Exports remain flat at
$1.440/mt FOB USGC, pending confirmation of current spot prices. One source stated that even at a lower price, US origin
exports are not competitive enough to work for all regions of the world. ACN CFR Far East Asia, CFR Southeast Asia, and CFR South
Asia were all assessed $10 higher than the previous week on 9 May. The assessed
