US EVA prices slightly rise amid low trading activity / Exports to South America grow / EVA Spread over LDPE Significantly Drops in June

The US export spot price for ethylene vinyl-acetate increased in the week ending July 3, but it remained depressed, due to the global oversupply of ethylene vinyl acetate from Asia. This limited the US's export volume. Due to the Red Sea Shipping Crisis, the high import ocean freight costs from Asia to America are preventing the flow of cheap material. US exporters therefore sell EVA to this region where demand is lower. Container freight rates from Northeast Asia are $10,100/FEU on July 2. This is down $100 since June 26 when they reached their highest level in 2022. Latin American container import prices have started to slow down.
