The spot prices of natural bales for post-consumer use and natural pellets increased in the week ending August 14 due to the looming deadlines on sustainability. Sources said that brands are catching up with their sustainability commitments but the price hikes make it difficult to keep up. Source: "The price of recycled HDPE natural bales has been increasing for some time; it's about every two weeks," said a source. The price of recycled HDPE bales has increased to the high 40s of cents/lb. This is more than twice the price from a year ago, which was 22 cents/lb.
