The benzene price in Europe fell on Thursday. A source from the industry in Europe, under condition of anonymity, told a member of the Polymer Update team that "Benzene fell because major producers lowered their offers amid increasing inventory levels." The bearish downstream pricing trend added to the uncertainty of the market. Source: "A drop in Asian values added further to the price decline." FOB Rotterdam, benzene was assessed at USD 900 -910/mt, a USD ( -20/mt), fall from Wednesday. On Thursday, downstream SM prices were assessed at USD 1205 –1215/mt. This represents a USD (–15/mt) drop from Wednesday. In Asia, the benzene price was assessed on Thursday at USD 915 -925/mt, down USD ( -5/mt).
