The Asian Butadiene market prices fell over
the week ending March 3. This was due to eroded margins across several
derivative sectors continuing to impact buying sentiment. The Chinese domestic market deal levels fell by
Yuan 600-650/mt from Yuan 8,800-9,900/mt during the week. Many Chinese
participants stated that there was no incentive for higher-priced imports
because domestic cargoes were cheaper based on import parity. In spite of
lower Chinese deals, buying indications were low in many Northeast Asian
regions. "Downstream demand in Asia is very low, and
there are large inventories of SBR and BR. A buyer in
Northeast Asia stated that it is unreasonable to pay more than $1,200/mt CFR NE
