Sources said that the prices of Asian
monoethylene glycol were stable on June 13, despite a lackluster trade. This was attributed to
seasonal slowdown, according to sources. Monoethylene
glycol in Asia is stable from day to day at $460/mt, CFR China on June 13th. Sources said that MEG prices have remained historically low
and below cash cost levels since November 2022. Sources said that the MEG operating rate is between 40-50%.
They added that poor margins on Asian markets have discouraged production. Sources said that the arbitrage between US and China was
closed. Last assessed spot monoethylene
glycol export prices at 18 cents/lb (397/mt FOB USG) on June 9, stable for the
week. US MEG exports are expected to
remain subdued to Europe amid antidumping tariffs...
